Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the FindHR website and the FindHR Chrome extension collect, why we collect it, and the control you keep over your data. We keep it plain, because trust is the whole point.
What this comes down to
FindHR helps you reach the people hiring for a role. To do that we process the job links you give us and the account details you provide. We only ever return professional contact information that people have already made public. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the FindHR website at FindHR.io, your FindHR account, and the FindHR Chrome extension. Wherever we say "FindHR," "we," or "us," we mean the team operating those products. Wherever we say "you," we mean the person using them.
By using the website or installing the extension, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please don't use the products.
Information we collect
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account info | Your email address, and a password or Google sign-in token. | To create and secure your account. |
| Job links & details | The job posting URL you paste, or the company, role, location, and job description you type in. | To find the hiring managers and recruiters for that role. |
| Resume | The PDF you optionally upload, and the text extracted from it. | To personalize the outreach email drafts you choose to generate. |
| Search results | The contacts we return and any feedback or ratings you leave. | To show your results and improve match quality. |
| Payment info | Handled entirely by Stripe. We store only a customer reference, never your card number. | To process credit purchases. |
| Usage data | Basic analytics — pages viewed, actions taken, approximate device and browser. | To understand what works and fix what doesn't. |
The Chrome extension
The FindHR Chrome extension exists to make one thing easy: capturing the job you're looking at so we can find the right people to contact.
- Active tab only. When you click the extension on a job posting, it reads the URL of that current tab so the search can run. It does not read or monitor your browsing in the background.
- No silent tracking. The extension does not log your browsing history, record keystrokes, or watch pages you didn't act on.
- Your account. The extension signs in with the same FindHR account as the website, so your searches and credits stay in one place.
- What leaves your browser. Only the job link or job details you submit, plus your account identity, are sent to FindHR to run the search.
The extension's data handling follows the Chrome Web Store's Limited Use requirements: the data it accesses is used only to provide and improve the FindHR features you ask for, never sold, and never used for unrelated purposes.
How we use your data
- To run your searches and return the hiring managers and recruiters for a role.
- To generate optional, personalized email drafts from your resume and the role.
- To manage your account, credits, and purchases.
- To send you the results and account-related emails you'd expect.
- To keep the service secure and to debug and improve it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share with
We share data only with the service providers that make FindHR work, and only as much as each one needs:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Contact & enrichment providers — to verify the public professional contact details we return.
- AI drafting provider — to generate the email drafts you request.
- Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity — anonymized usage and session analytics.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of FindHR and its users.
About the contact data
FindHR only returns professional contact information that people have already chosen to make public, the same kind of detail found in a company directory or on a public professional profile. We do not scrape or sell private personal data.
Under regulations like GDPR and CCPA, contacting someone about a role they are actively hiring for is generally treated as a legitimate professional interest rather than marketing spam. You stay in control of every message: you write it, you send it from your own inbox, and any person can ask to be removed at any time by emailing Hi@FindHR.io.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Search records and results are retained so you can revisit them in your dashboard. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.
Your choices
- Access & correction. You can view and update your account details from your profile.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time.
- The extension. Remove it from Chrome at any time to stop all data access from it.
- Analytics. Browser settings and extensions can limit analytics tracking.
To exercise any of these, email Hi@FindHR.io and we'll handle it.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and we rely on established providers (Google Firebase, Stripe) for storage and payments. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect your information.
Age requirement
FindHR is intended for people in the workforce and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the website or by email.
